Tips to get the best Beaufort, SC vacation property experience:
Sticking to a spending budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is a good way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- In the Beaufort, SC area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guides have discounts for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Choosing and booking the rightvacation home:
- Choose a group leader, select your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Newly Updated Golf Course Cottage with Fairway Views and Video Games has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC rentals search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- If there's an individual Beaufort, SC beach you are crazy about, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
