Finding the best vacation property experience:

When to go & When to reserve a Beaufort, SC rental home:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the best value, consider shifting your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Planning and choosing a perfectvacation home:

  • To start, have your family decide on the best dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. The Ocean Oasis: Newly Renovated Luxurious 6 Bedroom Beach Front Home, Sleeps 18 has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. If not, email the host before booking your rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what bed configuration is best for your family.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .

Additional considerations:

  • Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many issues.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • To make sure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the property manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
