Booking the best vacation home experience:
Sticking to your spending plan:
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- To get the best vacation home within your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Beaufort, SC attractions.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines contain discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Finding the best vacation home:
- Choose a group leader, select your dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. The Ocean Oasis: Newly Renovated Luxurious 6 Bedroom Beach Front Home, Sleeps 18 has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before booking your home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish which bed configuration is best for your family.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
- If there's a specific Beaufort, SC beach you crave, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
Know before you go:
- Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the host immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
