Tricks and tips to get the perfect rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Summer months are high season in the Beaufort, SC area. Book your Beaufort, SC rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain deals for local shops and restaurants.

Planning, picking, and booking the perfect Beaufort, SC vacation home:

  • First, have your family commit to dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. 796 Marlin Drive - Resort Access Included! Private Pool! has 7 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before booking your rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.

During your stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few problems.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a wonderful stay? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
