Tips for getting the best Fripp Island vacation home experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies often offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies supply Beaufort, SC area travel guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Start by selecting your vacation dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. 796 Marlin Drive - Resort Access Included! Private Pool! has 7 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property manager before you reserve the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what is right for your trip.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
  • If there's a certain Beaufort, SC attraction you crave, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Additional considerations:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • During arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
