Strategies for getting the best Beaufort, SC vacation home experience:

Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • To get the best value, shift your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines have coupons for local accommodations and attractions.

How to select the perfect rental home:

  • First and foremost, have your family choose date ranges and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 838 Fiddlers Ridge - New to VRBO! Resort Access Included! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC vacation rental search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property owner before you book your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what bed configuration is best for your vacation.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Upon check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a great vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
