Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
When to go & When to book:
- Summertime is high season in Fripp Island. Reserve your vacation in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Many property management companies supply Beaufort, SC area visitor guide magazines which include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning and picking your prefectvacation home:
- Begin by choosing vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 18 Fiddlers Cove - Resort Acess and Golf Cart Always Included! has 5 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you book your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- Visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations:
- Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Note any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a great stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
