Tricks and tips to get the perfect rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • In the Beaufort, SC area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Book your rental property in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Some property management companies offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area travel guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Start by choosing vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Golf cart, bikes, PING PONG, corn hole @ Big Kahuna, pets ok, across from beach has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before you book the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your family is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a certain Beaufort, SC beach you are crazy about, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking

More considerations for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your life at home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a terrific time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
