Find your perfect vacation home:

  • The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Summer months are high season in the Beaufort, SC area. Booking your Beaufort, SC vacation home in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.

How to pick the best vacation rental:

  • First and foremost, have your group decide on vacation dates and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Golf cart, bikes, PING PONG, corn hole @ Big Kahuna, pets ok, across from beach has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the host before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Additional considerations:

  • Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • To make sure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. message the host immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a excellent time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
