Tips to get the optimal Beaufort, SC rental home experience:
Find your best deal:
- Summertime is high season in the Beaufort, SC area. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain discounts for local accommodations and attractions.
Choosing the perfect rental:
- Choose dates and budget.

- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
- Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good ratings to drive new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
