Strategies to get the best Fripp Island vacation property experience:
When to reserve a Beaufort, SC rental & When to go:
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Summertime is high season in Fripp Island. To find the best value, change your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many management companies supply Beaufort, SC area travel guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and picking your prefectrental home:
- Begin by choosing your vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Beachfront home with expansive deck and direct beach access has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available online. Otherwise, call the host before reserving the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what is optimal for your family.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
More considerations:
- Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Document any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to compel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
