Tricks and tips to get the very best Beaufort, SC rental experience:
Finding your perfect rental:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserve your vacation in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Some hosts offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have coupons for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. 769 Marlin Drive - Oceanfront! Resort Access Included! has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you book the property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
Some things to know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the property manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
