Tips and Tricks to get the very best vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Summertime is high season in the Beaufort, SC area. Book your Beaufort, SC vacation home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Beaufort, SC area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Planning and picking a perfect Beaufort, SC rental home:
- Choose dates and budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. 702 Whiting Road - New to VRBO! Resort Access Included! has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC rentals search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally available online. If not, reach out to the property management company before you book your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine which bed configuration is right for your group.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. message the property manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many concerns.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic source for finding the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a great stay? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
