Tricks and tips for getting the best Fripp Island rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Summer time is high season in Fripp Island. Book your Beaufort, SC rental in Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Some property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Selecting the best vacation rental in the Beaufort, SC area:
- Choose your dates and budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Brand New, Pet Friendly, Golf Cart Included - 546 Remora Dr. has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property manager before booking the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what is suitable for your vacation.
- Does your family require unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
