Tips and Tricks to get the very best rental experience:
Find your best deal:
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Summer is the most expensive season in Fripp Island. To get the best value, consider shifting your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Filter your search:
- Start by choosing potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Stunning Custom Designed Home, Private Pool w/water slide and Hot tub, 518 Remora Circle has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property management company before booking the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your trip.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific Beaufort, SC attraction you crave, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- At Check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to compel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
