Tricks and tips to get the optimal Beaufort, SC rental experience:

When to go & When to reserve a Beaufort, SC rental home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is an excellent way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area travel guides which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing the best rental home:

  • To start, have your family agree to dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Resort Access Included! Golf Cart Included! New to VRBO! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible online. If not, reach out to the property manager before you reserve your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine which bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.

More considerations:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to drive new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
