How to get the best Beaufort, SC vacation home experience:

When to reserve a Beaufort, SC rental home & When to go:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in the Beaufort, SC area. To get the largest rental for your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Beaufort, SC attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have coupons for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to select the best rental:

  • Start by selecting a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. 637 New Haven - New to VRBO! Resort Access Included! has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible online. If not, call the property manager before booking your rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If there's an individual Beaufort, SC beach you love, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.

More considerations:

  • Store the owner's information in your smartphone.
  • Make a record of any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
