Our top Rental home tips and tricks:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.

Selecting and booking a perfect Beaufort, SC rental home:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration you need. Ocean Front Captain John Fripp Viilas - Awesome Ocean Views!!! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC vacation rental search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If not, contact the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what is optimal for your family.
  • If there's an individual Beaufort, SC destination you simply love, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Call the property manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a wonderful time? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
