Our top Beaufort, SC rental home tips:
Getting the best rental value:
- In the Beaufort, SC area, The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- To find the most suitable vacation home within budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Beaufort, SC restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have money saving offers on nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- First and foremost, have your family choose a vacation week and a budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Spectacular Views of Ocean & Pool includes Golf Cart has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property management company before booking the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your family is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Does your group require special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
More tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many issues.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Make a record of any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if damages are assessed.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a fantastic time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
