Tips for getting the best vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To book the most suitable rental home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area visitor guide magazines that include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Begin by selecting your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. 144 Captain John Fripp - Ocean Front - Next to Main Beach Access at Beach Club has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Tips for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Upon check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few problems.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a wonderful time? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
