Strategies to get the best vacation rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- In the Beaufort, SC area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many management companies supply Beaufort, SC area visitor guides which often include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your Search:

- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Private Pool, Walk to Beach, Ocean & Golf Course Views 780 Marlin Drive has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally available online. Otherwise, email the property manager before you book the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Does your group require specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if there is a dispute.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your life at home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a great stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
