Strategies for getting the best Beaufort, SC vacation home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Summer is the most expensive season in Fripp Island. Reserve your rental in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by having your family choose the best dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. New home with elevator, golf cart included - 56 Davis Love has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available online. Otherwise, reach out to the host before booking the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a specific Beaufort, SC attraction you long to visit, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
- If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- Document any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if a dispute is filed.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a great vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
