Tips to get the optimal Beaufort, SC rental home experience:

Sticking to your budget:

  • The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Summer is high season in the Beaufort, SC area. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guides have coupons for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Finding the best rental home in Fripp Island:

  • First and foremost, have your family agree to date ranges and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Tabby on the Tee - Four Bedroom House, Sleeps 15 has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If not, call the host before booking your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
  • If there's a certain Beaufort, SC beach you simply love, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Advice for your stay:

  • Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are assessed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a terrific stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
