Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Beaufort, SC rental home experience:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- Summertime is high season in Fripp Island. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Some property management companies offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Beaufort, SC area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Narrow your rental Search:
- First, have your family select dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Sandy Shores, Oceanfront Pet Friendly 775 Marlin Drive has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available online. Otherwise, email the property owner before reserving your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is optimal for your group.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
More considerations:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Record any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if there is a dispute.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of concerns.
- Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
