Our top Beaufort, SC vacation rental booking tips:
Get the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To get the best value, try shifting your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Begin by choosing a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Sandy Shores, Oceanfront Pet Friendly 775 Marlin Drive has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property manager before you book the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or could be applied to your agreement.
Tips to have a terrific stay:
- Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Upon check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a fantastic stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
