Our top Vacation rental home tips and tricks:

Money saving strategies:

  • In the Beaufort, SC area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Beaufort, SC area. To find the best value, try changing your family's Beaufort, SC vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, SC area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to choose and book the right Beaufort, SC rental home:

  • Select dates and budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. 457 Porpoise Circle - Five Bedroom House, Sleeps 14 has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC vacation rental search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible online. If not, email the host before reserving the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs applied to your contract.
  • If there's a certain Beaufort, SC attraction you love, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More tips for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
  • Record any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a wonderful time? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
