Strategies for getting the perfect Fripp Island vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To find the best value, consider shifting your family's Beaufort, SC vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Beaufort, SC area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have offers and deals for local accommodations and attractions.
How to select the perfect vacation rental:
- To start, have your group commit to vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Oceanfront Gem! 470 Tarpon Blvd - Resort Access Included! Golf Cart Included! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available online. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before you book the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is best for your trip.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the host's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Upon check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
