Fripp Island vacation rental tips and tricks:

Getting the best rental value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Book your rental home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain discounts for local shops and restaurants.

Make a plan and choose yourvacation home:

  • First and foremost, have your group decide on the best dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Oceanfront Gem! 470 Tarpon Blvd - Resort Access Included! Golf Cart Included! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property management company before reserving your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what is right for your vacation group.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.

More tips for your stay:

  • Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
  • Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a wonderful stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
