Tips and Tricks to get the best Beaufort, SC rental home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- To find the best value, change your family's Beaufort, SC vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have coupons for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Planning, selecting, and booking the perfectrental:
- Choose your dates and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Fripp Island/Multi Family Friendly/ Dog Friendly/Spacious 3rd Row home/6 Seater Golf cart incl/-703 Amberjack has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before booking the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
More considerations:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- To make sure damages are not attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the host immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your life at home. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
