A Nature Lover's Heaven: Savor elevated and broad vistas of the ever changing marsh and the wildlife that comes through it from our Fripp Island Treehouse. You'll see herons, egrets, osprey, eagles, woodstorks, jumping fish, fiddler crabs, deer and racoons too. And the song birds that stop at the feeder on the deck are an absolute joy to watch: cardinals, nuthatches, blue birds, painted buntings, wrens, titmice, chickadees, hummingbirds & MORE. Sunrises and sunsets are striking and seeing the light shift and the tide ebb and flow through the marsh grass is a real treat. Watching boats head in and out of Old House Creek is fun too. Bring your binoculars and soak up the magic! Birdseed is included for the feeders.
The treehouse is bright, open and comfortable and really brings the outdoors in. Off of the 1st floor entryway there is a enchanting bedroom suite (2 twin beds) with a deck overlooking the marsh and a full bath. Upstairs you'll find 2 bedrooms (each with a queen bed and adjustable base--great for reading in bed or day dreaming out the windows): the primary bedroom has a balcony overlooking the marsh and a full bathroom, and the 2nd bedroom has beautiful vistas of the tree tops and a full bathroom adjacent to it.
The living room, dining room and kitchen are open and offer spectacular marsh vistas and space for you to savor one another or spread out. And we just added a very comfortable new living room sectional and swivel chair for you to relax in. We know you will appreciate being immersed in the peacefulness of Fripp's marsh while only being a fast ride from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the island. There is outdoor seating on the decks and around the property for you to appreciate your morning coffee, an afternoon drink, or a good book. There is a game cupboard in the living space and a beach closet in the downstairs bedroom that includes bocce, cornhole, umbrellas, a shibumi shade tent and more.
A 4 seat golf cart is supplied and is a marvelous way to discover the beauty of the island. The beach is a short ride away and the Fiddler's crabbing dock is just down the street. You are also welcome to use the adult tandem bicycle and 4 cruiser bicycles (4 helmets supplied).
Thank you for you your interest in the Bird House--we know you'll appreciate it as much as our family does! :-) -The Fraser family

Getting the best rental experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- Summer months are high season in Fripp Island. To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Beaufort, SC trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Some owners offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many management companies supply Beaufort, SC area visitor guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting and booking your prefectrental:
- Select a designated group leader, select your dates, and select a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Pets Considered, Golf Cart included - The Bird House has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a great stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
