Tips and Tricks to get the very best vacation property experience:

Sticking to a rental budget:

  • Booking your Beaufort, SC vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is an excellent way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Planning and choosing your prefectvacation home:

  • Select your dates and budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Great views, close to cabana club, golf cart included - 23 Veranda Beach has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you reserve the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what is optimal for your trip.
  • If there's a certain Beaufort, SC beach you are crazy about, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Note any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a wonderful stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
