Rental home tips and tricks:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Book your Beaufort, SC rental property in Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, management companies supply Beaufort, SC area travel guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Begin by selecting vacation dates and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 24 Sea Mist Road - New to VRBO! Resort Access Included! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you reserve your home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out which bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
Have a fantastic stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- To make sure damages are not attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the host immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
