Tips and Tricks to get the very best rental home experience:
How to get the best value:
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To book the most suitable rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Beaufort, SC restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Some owners offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Finding the perfect rental home:
- Start by having your group select the best dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Frippin Fabulous View on Ocean Creek Course has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property manager before reserving the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
More tips for your visit:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many problems.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are assessed.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to drive new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
