Booking the best vacation property experience:
Finding your perfect rental:
- The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Fripp Island. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Ocean Front 3 Bedroom Villa, 4 seat golf cart included - 650 Newhaven has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you book the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your family.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
- If there's a particular Beaufort, SC destination you crave, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
Advice for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few problems.
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a fantastic stay? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
