Tricks and tips to get the perfect Fripp Island vacation property experience:
Get the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are high season in Fripp Island. Reserve your rental property in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning and choosing the perfectrental:
- To start, have your family decide on dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Ocean Front 3 Bedroom Villa, 4 seat golf cart included - 650 Newhaven has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property manager before booking the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish which bed configuration is best for your vacation.
- Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or applied to your invoice.
Advice for a great stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain that no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the rental manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to inspire future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
