How to book the best Beaufort vacation property experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Summertime is high season in the Beaufort, SC area. Book your rental property in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- In the Beaufort, SC area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.
Finding the perfect rental home in Beaufort:
- Begin by choosing the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Sweet Magnolia Sandy Feet Retreat - 4 Porches! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before you reserve the home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Call the rental manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to compel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
