Our top Rental home tips:

When to visit Beaufort & When to reserve a Beaufort, SC rental home:

  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in the Beaufort, SC area. Book your rental in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have coupons for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Selecting and booking the bestrental:

  • Start by choosing trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Beautiful, spacious home within short distance of USMC base - Parris Island has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what is best for your vacation group.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.

More tips for your visit:

  • Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • To make sure that damages are not attributed to your stay, record any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to compel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
