Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Beaufort, SC vacation home experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Booking your vacation home in Spring or Fall is a great way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies supply Beaufort, SC area visitors guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing and booking the bestrental:
- To start, have your group select trip dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Serendipity - Golf Cart Included has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. If not, email or call the host before you reserve your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
Tips for a great stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
- To make sure damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Call the host right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your life at home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to propel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
