Strategies to get the best Beaufort, SC vacation rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in the Beaufort, SC area. To find the best vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Beaufort, SC restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Some hosts offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area visitor guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. Narrow your Search:
- Start by having your group decide on date ranges and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 3 Quarterdeck - Brand New Home - Resort Access Included! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you book the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your trip.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or applied to your invoice.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
Have a wonderful stay:
- Add the host's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many issues.
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- Upon check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a excellent time? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
