Tips to get the optimal Beaufort, SC rental experience:
When to reserve a Beaufort, SC rental home & When to go:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in Beaufort. Booking in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Filter your search:
- First and foremost, have your group choose trip dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Historic Home Overlooking the Beaufort River Located on Bay St - Sleeps 10 has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available online. Otherwise, call the host before booking the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
- If your group is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More tips for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
