Tips and Tricks to get the perfect rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • In the Beaufort, SC area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in Fripp Island. Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, SC area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have coupons for local tours and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Choose your vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Enjoy our new 16x25 screened in porch on Ocean Point Golf course has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

More tips for your visit:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few problems.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the property manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a fantastic stay? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
