Strategies to get the best rental home experience:

Sticking to your spending budget:

  • To book the best rental home within your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Begin by selecting your a vacation week and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Enjoy our new 16x25 screened in porch on Ocean Point Golf course has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, call the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • If there's a particular Beaufort, SC attraction you simply love, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges may be applied to your contract.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if there is a dispute.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect your property!
  • When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to stimulate future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
