How to find the best vacation property experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the best value, try changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have money saving offers on local shops and restaurants.
Choosing and booking a perfect Beaufort, SC vacation home:
- Select vacation week and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. The Mariners House- Fully renovated kitchen! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available online. If not, email the property manager before you book the property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your group is traveling with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular Beaufort, SC destination you crave, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
Some things to know before you go:
- We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- Note any issues with the property during check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if there is a dispute.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a excellent stay? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
