Strategies to get the optimal vacation property experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • In the Beaufort, SC area, The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Summer months are high season in the Beaufort, SC area. To find the best value, try changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area visitors guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Narrow your Search:

  • Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 142 Capt John Fripp Villa - New to VRBO! Resort Access Included! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before booking the property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, search for a property that allows animals. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a certain Beaufort, SC attraction you simply love, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More tips for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute arises.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to drive future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
