Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Fripp Island vacation home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the best value, consider changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have offers and deals for local accommodations and attractions.
Narrow your rental Search:
- First and foremost, have your group decide on trip dates and a budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. 142 Capt John Fripp Villa - New to VRBO! Resort Access Included! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before you book the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular Beaufort, SC attraction you crave, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
Have a great stay:
- Add the host's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Note any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to propel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
