Rental property booking tips and tricks:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer is high season in the Beaufort, SC area. To find the best value, consider changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain discounts for local tours and attractions.
Make a plan and pick the bestvacation home:
- Select vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 579 Remora Drive - New to VRBO! Resort Access Included! Golf Cart Included! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a certain Beaufort, SC attraction you crave, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or could be applied to your agreement.
More tips for your stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Note any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
