Our top Beaufort, SC rental property booking tips:
Getting the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Beaufort, SC area. To get the best value, shift your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
How to choose and book your Beaufort, SC rental home:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. 18 Veranda Beach Drive - New to VRBO! Resort Access Included! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before reserving the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a specific Beaufort, SC beach you are enamored with, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges applied to your contract.
Additional considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- To make sure damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the rental manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
