Beaufort, SC vacation rental booking tips:

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • To find the best value, consider changing your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • In the Beaufort, SC area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for local accommodations and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Start by choosing a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. 18 Veranda Beach Drive - New to VRBO! Resort Access Included! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the host before you book the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or might be applied to your contract.

More considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Document any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many difficulties.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a fantastic time? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
