Our top Vacation rental booking tips:

Money saving strategies:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in the Beaufort, SC area. Reserve your vacation home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have discounts for nearby shops and restaurants.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Start by selecting your a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. 125 Ocean Creek Blvd - New to VRBO! Resort Access Included! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible online. If not, contact the property manager before booking the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Document any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if damages are assessed.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a fantastic time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
