Tricks and tips to get the perfect Beaufort, SC vacation rental experience:

Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • Summer is high season in the Beaufort, SC area. Reserve your Beaufort, SC rental home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers often offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Choosing the perfect rental home in Fripp Island:

  • First and foremost, have your group agree to vacation dates and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Golf cart included, amenity cards available, pet friendly - great for young families, 601 Porpoise Circle has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before booking the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your life at home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
