Our top Fripp Island rental booking tips and tricks:
Sticking to your rental budget:
- In the Beaufort, SC area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Summer months are high season in the Beaufort, SC area. Reserve your rental home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local Beaufort, SC area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and select a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. 290 Tarpon Blvd, Sunset Villa - New to VRBO! Resort Access Included! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before booking the home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
- If there's a certain Beaufort, SC destination you love, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
More tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Contact the host right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to stimulate more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
