Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation home experience:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- To get the best value, try shifting your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great weather, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies supply Beaufort, SC area travel guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing the best rental:
- Start by selecting the best vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. 292 Tarpon Blvd - New to VRBO! Resort Access Included! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property manager before you book your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what is right for your family.
- If there's a particular Beaufort, SC destination you are enamored with, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- At Check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a fantastic stay? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
