Fripp Island rental home booking tips:

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Fripp Island. Booking your Beaufort, SC vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many management companies supply Beaufort, SC area visitor guides which include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • First, have your group commit to date ranges and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Walking Distance to Beach! Resort Access Included - New to VRBO has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available online. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what configuration is optimal for your group.
  • Visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or applied to your agreement.

Additional considerations:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • During arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to drive more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
