Strategies to get the very best vacation home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Summer is high season in Fripp Island. To get the best value, consider shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Finding the perfect vacation home in Fripp Island:
- Begin by selecting trip dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Stunning 5 Bedroom Home, Short Walk to Beach, Includes 2 Golf Carts, 809 Bonito Road 809 Bonito Drive has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before reserving the home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your family is bringing pets, search for a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- To make certain damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the property manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
