Our top Fripp Island vacation rental home tips:
Cost saving strategies:
- Book your rental in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Filter your rental search:
- Start by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Oceanfront Beachfront Paradise! - 2 Free Amenity Cards!! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC rentals search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often available online. If not, reach out to the property manager before booking your rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your vacation.
- If there's an individual Beaufort, SC attraction you simply love, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your family is bringing pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- At Check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many concerns.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to drive new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
