How to get the best Beaufort, SC rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • In the Beaufort, SC area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Book your rental in Fall or Spring months to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area travel guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas during check in. Call the property manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to propel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
