Tips to get the perfect Beaufort, SC vacation property experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • In the Beaufort, SC area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Summer months are high season in Fripp Island. Book your rental home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, SC area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Selecting the perfect rental:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your dates, and select a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Fripper Upper: 1st Floor, Just for TWO, All Marsh Views, FREE Coffee/Tea/Creamer, No Bedroom Stairs, Screened Porch, Club Cards Available! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before reserving the vacation property. • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Record any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a terrific vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
