Strategies to get the optimal Beaufort, SC rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Beaufort, SC area. To find the largest vacation home for your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Beaufort, SC attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Planning, picking, and booking the best Beaufort, SC vacation home:

  • Select dates and budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Fripper Upper: 1st Floor, Just for TWO, ALL MARSH VIEWS, FREE Coffee\/Tea\/Creamer, No Bedroom Stairs, Screened Porch, Club Cards Available! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the host immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peace. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to propel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
