Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Summer is the most expensive season in Beaufort. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area visitor guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to pick the best vacation home:
- Select your dates and budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. The Manhattan Suite (Apartment 2), at Magnolia Court has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available online. If not, call the host before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- Are you visiting for a single event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
Have a fantastic stay:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of difficulties.
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- To make sure that no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the host right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
