Tips to get the best vacation home experience:

Find your best deal:

  • The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Fripp Island. Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

How to select the best vacation rental in the Beaufort, SC area:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. A Little Frippsea - 603 Newhaven has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you book the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges applied to your contract.
  • Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More tips for your visit:

  • We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a wonderful stay? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
