Tips and Tricks to get the very best vacation property experience:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To find the best value, consider shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Choosing the best vacation rental:

  • First, have your family agree to vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. A Little Frippsea - 603 Newhaven has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
  • If there's a specific Beaufort, SC attraction you love, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking

Tips for your stay:

  • Put the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • To make sure damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the host immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to propel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
