Our top Beaufort, SC vacation rental tips and tricks:

How to get the best value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Book your rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have offers and deals for nearby tours and attractions.

How to choose and book the right Beaufort, SC rental home:

  • First, have your family agree to date ranges and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Pompano Beauty with a View to Die For! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC vacation rental search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before reserving your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is right for your group.
  • If there's a particular Beaufort, SC destination you simply love, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

During your stay:

  • Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the host immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many issues.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a terrific vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
