Tips and Tricks to get the best Fripp Island vacation rental experience:

How to get the best value:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in Fripp Island. To find the best value, try shifting your family's Beaufort, SC trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Choose a group leader, select your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Pompano Beauty with a View to Die For! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking pages. If not, contact the property owner before you book the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges could be applied to your agreement.

Advice for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • During arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect your property!
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
